摘要
A relatively new heat treat facility and its advantages in quality control and energy savings stemming from computer-monitoring in hardening and tempering oil-field tubing, are described. The new installation at the Armco's Ambridge Works is designed to heat treat drill pipe and tubing in lengths up to 34 ft, with output up to 20 tons per hour. The new line is computer controlled to permit maximum control over heat treating variables and produce a consistent quality product.
