This paper aims to show that multivariate linear and neural network based non-linear processors can greatly aid in information extraction from arrays. Array examples discussed include simple sensors with additional sensors for interference compensation, sensor arrays for 'artificial noses', and array data from multi-channel spectroscopic instruments and image capture systems.
