A calculation is made of the transmission function of carbon dioxide under the conditions (pressure, temperature, and absorbing mass) of the Martian atmosphere. The ascending and descending fluxes of long wavelength radiation are calculated with this transmission function and the temperature profile observed in the Martian atmosphere.
