Robotics is currently enjoying the attention of industry, the public, and government. As robotics research and development activity has increased, so has the number of technical publications in this field and related ones such as computer vision, artificial intelligence, sensors, and computer integrated manufacturing. Anyone who wants to keep up with developments and trends in a particular specialty is faced with the problem of selecting interesting papers from this growing body of technical information. On-line searching of robotics databases provides an effective means of doing this.
