Topical problems of environmental protection when operating offshore oil wells are considered. Technological schemes are described, in which hydrocyclones are used to wash sand samples by the closed circulation method and to purify formation water of sand at field oil collection reservoirs. Results of laboratory and oil field investigations are presented.
