Effect of reflux density on heat transfer with stationary vapour condensing on bundles of horizontal tubes

The authors show that the mechanism of heat transfer with vapor condensing on a tube bundle differs in principle from the mechanism of heat transfer on a vertical surface. The experimental data are very satisfactorily described by formula, despite the considerable simplifications adopted in the calculation procedure. However, despite the fact that almost all of the calculation formulae are given in dimensionless form, their validity for substances with properties differing significantly from those of freons is in need of experimental confirmation. Comparison of calculations for steam with the experimental data of Kutateladze and Isachenko and Glushkov, carried out for Reynolds numbers up to 120, revealed good agreement.
