The hydrogen reduction kinetics of seven CuO/ZnO/Al//2O//3 catalysts with comparable composition were studied with the aid of temperature programmed reduction (TPR). The composition of the samples was analyzed by X-Ray diffraction. From the results thus obtained, the information about the interaction among the catalyst components could be brought to light and it is shown that under normal reduction conditions, only CuO is reduced and the extent of reduction increases with that of dispersion. The kinetic parameters and establishment of rate equation of reduction were achieved by mathematical analysis of the TPR diagram. A comparison of the results obtained in this study with previous worker's models and methods suggested that the established rate equation of reduction was reasonable.
