One of the most widely used metods of determining weight percent total sulfur in coking products is combustion of the products in a current of air in a pipe furnace. Combustion of the product is performed in a bisectional electrical furnace using a catalyst which permits thorough decomposition of the coking products. In this report results are presented of determination of total sulfur in coking products, using amorphous chromium trioxide as the catalyst. The results of determination of the weight percent total sulfur in various coking products are presented.
