The reduction and reoxidation of individual heteropoly anions (HPA) PW//1//2-//nV//n multiplied by (times) O//4//0**(**3** plus **n**)**+31,where n equals 1-4, were studied under conditions of retention of the chemical and isomeric compositions. For reduced HPA that contain V(IV) it was shown that PW//1//1V and PW//1//0V//2 are not oxidized by molecular oxygen and that the rate of oxidation of PW//8V//4 is considerably higher than the rate of oxidation of PW//9V//3 vis-a-vis the same degree of reduction of the HPA.
