摘要
To study the feasibility of the SF6/N2 gas mixture as the insulating dielectric in GIS to replace SF6 gas, the discharge parameters are discussed, and the condition for the Wieland approximation to be applicable is provided. The discharge characteristics of SF6/N2 for different mixture ratios with different gas pressures under different applied voltage waveforms are studied. The results show that the corona stabilization in SF6/N2 mixtures is higher than that of SF6, and the breakdown voltage under higher frequency VFTO are lower than that under lower frequency. The results also show the nearly linear relationship between the breakdown voltage and gas mixture pressure, so an increase of SF6/N2 pressure without changing the GIS dimension and structure can ensure its insulation strength.
