摘要
In a beam-type microwave tube with collector-potential depression, negative space charges are developed in the vicinity of the collector but are neutralized by positive ions generated by ionization of the residual gas. This enables secondary electrons to return to the drift space. By means of an ion drain electrode part of the trapped ions are removed and the return of the secondary electrons is suppressed. This effect was confirmed by computer simulation.
