This paper describes the problems of operating high-volume gas pipelines and transporting natural gas with water- and hydrocarbon dewpoints partially above the gas temperature. The example of the Trans Austria Gas Line is used to study the mechanism of condensation and the local distribution of gas condensate. Hydraulic calculations for the scraper run used for purging the pipeline are presented.
