摘要：
Use of the ultimate strength method of design with high strength concrete and reinforcing steels poses serviceability problems in modern structures. The paper makes an attempt to derive and present an empirical formula for deflection in slabs which have cracked, based on experimental values obtained in a series of tests on slabs.
