This paper offers a new method for measuring the starting characteristic of the micromotor by laser doppler velocimetry. Its basic principle is described briefly. Some problems such as the measuring accuracy and tracking rate are emphasized and preliminary experiment is described. The advantage of this method are that it is unnecessary to load the micromotor, the measuring accuracy is high and the measuring process is fast.
