Alloy PInK-24 is an indium-cadmium solder with a cadmium content of 24 plus or minus 1 wt. %. The corrosion rate was practically constant throughout the test. In acid solutions corrosion was continuous; in an NaCl solution spots were observed and corrosion was intense in the hole. The high corrosion resistance in caustic soda is probably due to formation of a poorly soluble compact film of cadmium hydroxide.
