An experimental system for time-resolved optical tomography was constructed by Ti:sapphire laser and synchroscan streak camera. With three-dimensional step motor driving stage, the system can scan the object to be imaged in a parallel-beam mode analogous to X-ray CT, by which the time-resolved projection at different incident angles can be obtained automatically. By applying the relevant image reconstruction algorithm, the promising images were produced from the measurement for three kinds of tissue-like phantoms that represent the different combination of the absorption and scattering properties of the embedded single inclusion. The results indicate that this system is a reliable and ideal mode for optical tomography research.
