The article analyses the influence of physical factors on the process of separation of pulverized coals and lignities with high moisture content used direct-firing system, and the problems of simulation of this process. Investigation was carried out on an industrial concentrator 1. 35 m in diameter, as well as in a laboratory on geometrically similar models. The following quantities were varied: absolute dimension of the concentrator, average size of particles, velocity of the dryng agent, proportion of the drying agent, and temperatures of the drying agent. Results are analyzed and a mathematical expression for the degree of separation depending on the proportion of the drying agent is worked out and confirmed by experimental data.
