In the Pipe Line and Gas Industry, orifice gas meters are widely accepted as a standard method in applications where metering large volumes at fairly sustained high pressures is the need. Also, because of its widespread historical use in the industry, orifice meter technology has constantly been studied by recognized expert committees, resulting in readily available standards and recommended practices for end users.
