The results which we have given previously on composition of the deposits at Novovoronezh NPS and on their quantity show the pressing need to carry out operational cleaning of the steam generators at the station. Steam generator (SG) shutdown for cleaning involves considerable loss of power generation and high material and labor costs. Experience of operating conventional thermal power stations has shown that in-service cleaning can be conducted successfully at medium pressures, i. e. without SG shutdown. The main reagent used for such cleaning is ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid (EDTA) or its disubstitution sodium salt (Trilon B).
