摘要
The potential for the use of iron carbide made via the ICH process as a feed material for electric furnaces is very high. Cost of production should be less than any other reduced iron product and its value in use is higher than all competing products except for pig iron. It has the benefit of low sulfur, very low residuals, non pyrophoricity and a net energy contribution to the process. It has the ability to reduce nitrogen levels in the steel making the production of high quality flat-rolled products via electric furnace feasible.
