A comparison of the measured values of the microbrittleness of copper-doped ZnS single crystals with their microstructural features shows that the crystallographic orientation of the stacking faults and oriented second-phase inclusions in the form of the compound Cu//2S exerts a direct effect on the mechanical anisotropy of these single crystals.
