High-temperature resistance of glued products plays an important role in gluing technologies. Resistance to temperatures of up to 180°C has been achieved by the use of conventional adhesives while special adhesives based on high-performance epoxy resins, polyimides and inorganic materials are required to increase the high-temperature resistance of adhesive joints up to 200°C. Such improved adhesives are primarily intended for applications in the aircraft industry but they are also of interest for the electronics and automotive industries. High-performance epoxy resins and polyimides provide not only better high-temperature resistance but also improved adhesive properties and aging resistance.
