摘要:
While experiments over the past 30 years have shown that radiation effectively inactivates sludge-borne pathogens, the process is not well accepted in the wastewater community. Key issues that affect the application of irradiation technology for municipal sludge disinfection are discussed. Research at cobalt-60, cesium-137, and electron beam sludge irradiators and descriptions of sludge irradiation are also presented.
