Results of the numerical modeling of the propagation of one dimensional MHD shock waves in an inhomogeneous plasma in a magnetic field are analyzed. Possible application to obtaining higher velocities and temperatures as well as to astrophysics are considered. An essential effect of the magnetic field is shown: in a medium with decreasing density the acceleration effect of the shock wave is intensified.
