This paper describes a new polyester additives systems in which diallyl tetrabromophthalate (Xyrex RFR) offers flame retardancy and cross-linking in one package. The user controls halogen level in the resin system and thereby determines degree of flame retardancy needed to meet specifications. In addition, DATBP (Xyrex RFR) provides improved surface characteristics, better fiber hiding, higher heat-distortion temperature, and enhanced electrical properties when compared to traditional flame-retardant products.
