It is established that aging carried out before final annealing of transformer steel has a significant effect on the texture which forms during final annealing. By varying the aging regime, it is possible to cause the formation of a particular texture desired. The optimum regime for obtaining a cubic texture is annealing at 500 degree C for 1. 5 hr.
