It is shown that, in principle, it is feasible to obtain metal polymer coats through electrolysis of solutions containing metal ions and additive of N-methylpyrolidine (MP) capable of polymerization under the action of electric current. Resultant data indicate an increase in the energy of electrode process activation due to adsorption of additive on cathode. Mechanism is suggested for co-precipitation of Ni ions and MP that is an opening of monomer cycle and electrochemical generation of bipolar carboanion that reacts with Ni ions on cathode to form Ni-polymer compound. Finally microhardness and protection properties of coats are improved. Ni coats as deposited without MP have low protection properties.
