摘要：

The use of real-time operating systems (RTOS) for fault tolerance and safety-critical applications was described. RTOS host mission-critical applications in a wide range of environments where safety and reliability were top priorities. It was stated that the legacy applications could be incorporated into new design without reprogramming.
