Models were carefully manufactured to conduct experimental research works aimed at analysing the stressed state of a cylindrical shell with a strap. Geometrical sizes of experimental models are tabulated. Models of a cylindrical shell with a strap were investigated, using an applied method based on the moment theory of thin shells and on the finite element method. Drastic changes in deformations were observed both in the strap near the rigidity rib (in the local loading zone) and in the shell in the vicinity of the strap. Circumferential deformations (and stresses) in a lateral plane were found to be the largest.
