Heat exchange units for automobile air conditioners are mostly made of aluminum, and they are jointed by vacuum brazing or flux brazing. Using no flux, the vacuum brazing method is free of pollutions and has been put to increasingly widespread use in recent years. The report outlines the features of this method, problems involved, and gives some description of inert gas brazing which is expected as a future means for aluminum jointing.
