A method for electrocontact dressing and the maintenance of good-quality cutting action of the diamond wheels carried out on the machines themselves using flexible electrodes has been developed. To bring this into industrial use, a method has been developed for a combined dressing of the diamond wheels of an angular profile; equipment has been planned and manufactured for use on the SAG machines. Comparative tests were made of the 1EEAU1X diamond wheels and results were analyzed. The new method and equipment made it possible to automate the dressing of diamond wheels during operations in the finishing of glass which are currently carried out manually using an abrasive block.
