摘要:
In high-density railway systems, computers provide an efficient means of train-traffic control. While many of such systems' operations can be automatically controlled by computers, rescheduling decisions still depend heavily on the flexible information-processing and decision-making abilities of human experts. The relatively new field of knowledge engineering seeks to use computers to simulate the thought processes of the human experts who regularly solve these problems. Mitsubishi Electric has applied knowledge-engineering technology to develop rescheduling support tools for use by train dispatchers. The latest of these expert systems for train-traffic control is called ESTRAC-III.
