Reviews modern requirements on the structure, aims and means of automated design-projection systems in reference to working conditions in project-design departments of an electrical machine manufacturing undertaking engaged in small-series and one-off production. Design of turbo-generators, hYdro-electric generators and d. c. and a. c. machines is treated on the basis of experience of a first stage of a system introduced at Elektrosila in 1980. Reports on how problems have been solved which were not previously clarified. Savings can accrue from quicker and less labor-intensive design.
