Flexible manufacturing cells are the building blocks of machine and assembly shops of tomorrow. Integrating components are devices and equipment providing materials handling between manufacturing and assembly operations. Several examples are presented which illustrate the state-of-the-art in the field of control systems for flexible manufacturing cells and their programming.
