This is a summary of new developments in the Soviet Union in the field of synthetic rubber. It is presented under the following five headings - thermoplastic styrene butadiene rubbers containing carboxyl or ester groups; the effects of metal oxides on fluorosilicone rubber blends; heat stability of an accelerator; methods of compounding with reclaim; and swelling of nitrile rubbers in hot water.
