摘要
Motion of a particle in a turbulent fluid is examined. A relaxation process is introduced to incorporate the difference in particle and the fluid diffusivities. The effect of the reduction in the diffusivity ratio, changes in temperature and density of the fluid, and the presence of various size particles are examined. It is shown that each of these factors may limit the applicability of the LDV (Laser Doppler Velocimeter) to low Mach number and low frequency turbulence.
