摘要
This paper, based on bibliography, reviews the methods of investigating the reactivity of the chemical group in the side-chain of a particular amino acid which can be broadly placed in five categories: pseudo-substrates, affinity labels, trapping reagents for reactive intermediates and suicide substrates. The analysis of covalent functions of amino acid residues within enzymes by using various discussed compounds is presented in some detail.
