The results of 14 test series are given, in which approximately 130 specimens of normal concrete were subjected to partial area loading. The tests were carried out, in order to gain more knowledge on the loadbearing behavior and deformation behavior of concrete under partial area loading. Most of the specimens were provided with a transverse reinforcement mostly consisting of a helix. For comparison purposes, however, transverse reinforcements consisting of loops, mats and lattices were also tested. The helical reinforcement has proved to be the most suited type of reinforcement. But also in the case of loops and mats it was possible for the same amount of steel to reach approx. 90% of the ultimate load of helically reinforced members.
