ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS FOR CONTROL OF PAPER CUTTING.

This paper describes means of obtaining angular adjustment of the position of a rotary knife so that the desired point of severance of a paper web is obtained. The control principles employed are applicable to plain webs as well as those containing register impressions. The types of cutting machine considered are those which have draw rolls for transport of the paper to the knife system, which is powered by the same drive as the draw rolls, usually via an adjustable ratio gear unit.
