Following a review of the state of degradation (including pollution) of surface and underground water resources, the atmosphere, the earth (including soil) and plants, the conditions of environmental protection in Poland are considered. The paper then deals with topics such as wastewater treatment rationalization of surface and underground water disposal, water conserving production technologies, rationalization of waste disposal in the environment, technologies and production systems with no or little waste, fuel refining and flue gas desulfurization, complex management of deposits and regenerated materials, ecology protection on Terrain endangered by mining activities, industry and town development, complex reclamation of the terrain transformed by mining and degraded by industrial pollution, complex forest protection, drainage and restorative deacidification and fertilization of sandy soil degraded by farming, and utilization of organic fertilizer for the production of food and materials and cultivation of plants and soils.
