This paper describes the performance and analysis of wound rotor induction motor with slip power recovery achieved by two different through pass single phase inverters. While the predetermination of speed-torque characteristic is done by using a dc equivalent circuit, the power factor of the line current is calculated with the help of an ac equivalent circuit. Experimental study has also been made with both types of through pass inverters and the relative merits and demerits of using these circuits have been discussed.
