摘要
Simple expressions have been derived to calculate Structural Return Loss (SRL) and transfer function error due to periodic cable irregularities. The rms value of the intersymbol interference has been evaluated, starting from the values of SRL and returned power. Both experimental and theoretical results have shown that a regenerative transmission system at 140 Mbit/s is not impaired even by strong structural cable irregularities.
