WFR models are discussed for four-wave interaction in various nonlinear media and possible numerical methods of handling them. Studies are made on the effects of the width and amplitude relations for Gaussian signal and pumping beams and inequalities in the pumping amplitudes as regards the quality and performance in reversal in transparent, nonlinearly amplifying, and nonlinearly absorbing media.
