Basis metals finished include cast iron, steel, stainless steel, brass, copper and zinc base die castings. Finishes applied include copper (cyanide or acid), satin nickel, bright nickel, heavy brass for antique work, bright brass flash for decorative finishes, chromium direct on steel, chromium on stainless steel, bright chromium over bright nickel and water-displacing lacquer. The problem of applying many finishes on various metals efficiently has been solved by installing a compact rack plating unit with two rows of process tanks served by two manual hoists mounted on bridge cranes.
