Its purpose is to provide those types of software services having a high degree of commonality across many users, many activities, or many events. Examples of such services are operating system generation and regeneration; program and file conversion and regression testing; and application program development and testing. As implemented, the Factory is an intelligent interaction of virtual operating systems, system services and facilities, program tools, proceduralization, and human technician/specialists to provide unique skills and judgment. The factory thus pro an environment within which the activities necessary to accomplish a stated objective may be proceduralized, computerized and thereafter repeatable executed with low-labor investment.
