This paper describes modern building and energy management systems which provide monitoring, recording and reporting capabilities and which, with appropriate analysis, can be used to refine operational objectives and identify potential areas for increased cost savings. The system manager may be the building owner or some designated individual or group to whom responsibility for managing the building functions has been delegated.
