The results of fundamental investigations and technological developments on the combination of superplastic forming and diffusion bonding (SPF/DB) obtained in the Institute for Metals Superplasticity Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, are given. The problems and promises of developing the technology using SPF/DB methods are considered. The improvement of existing technologies and creation of new ones based on SPF/DB are connected with scientific achievements in the region of processing superplastic materials with sub - and nanocrystalline structures.
