摘要：
Quality control at the British Steel Corporation's Consett Works has been aided by the installation of an on-line plate tester which is the first of its kind to use advanced data handling techniques. The development of this machine represents the emergence of a new concept in the automatic inspection of plates, billets, rails and other steel mill products and illustrates the growing application of NDT techniques to on-line situations in the steel industry.
