EQUIPMENT AND TECHNIQUES FOR DRILLING MINIATURE HOLES.

With the exception of a handful of special purpose microdrilling machines, most miniature holes are drilled using conventional equipment intended for larger work. The successful application of any equipment to the drilling of miniature holes requires a thorough understanding of the appropriate techniques, and the correct selection and use of the appropriate cutting tools. A discussion of these techniques and their practical application to available equipment is the subject covered by this paper.
