In the last two decades plastics have opened new possibilities for pharmaceutical packaging. The development of deep-drawn films lead to press-through packages for tablets and pills. The authors comprehensively deal with extensive studies for producing press-through packages. The tests and results showed interesting findings for film and equipment manufacturers to improve deep-drawn packages and their production methods. Results of a comprehensive test program are included in this report.
